Here’s an article that will help you understand how the Bon Magasinage commission works, as well as the sales and mailing process. If you have any questions, please contact us at allo@bonmagasinage.com.

Our commission is the lifeblood of Bon Magasinage. Since the beginning of our adventure, it’s been this that has enabled us to improve our platform and support our team. Thank you for your contribution ❤️

It’s easy to use, and as a Seller you don’t have to do a thing. When a sale is made in your closet and you drop off your parcel at the post office, payment for your sales arrives in your Bon Magasinage wallet within 10 working days. Our commission of 20% + tax has already been added to this sum.

Taxes as a Salesperson

Here’s a concrete example: if you make a $30 sale, the amount deposited in your Bon Magasinage wallet will be $23.10. Bon Magasinage’s commission is $6, plus $0.90 government tax, GST (5% ) and QST (9.975%), for a total of $6.90 .

Taxes as a Buyer

Only delivery costs are charged at the time of purchase. Here’s a concrete example: if you make a $30 purchase and there’s a $12 delivery charge, the total will be $43.80 ($30 + $12 + $1.80 postage tax).

And if you’re wondering what this commission is for ⬇️

The commission Bon Magasinage earns is so precious. It’s the only reason Bon Magasinage exists. Thanks to it we can invest in the development of the platform (we know your dream list for Bon Magasinage is big and our hope to make them come true is IMMENSE 🥰 ), create jobs at Bon Magasinage and regularly add new features.

Thank you for all of this and thank you to our wonderful little team for working so hard every day ❤️

New! You dreamed it and we did it 😍

Since April 2024, you can open a seller’s account and start selling without needing to register a bank account. The money from your sales goes directly into your Bon Magasinage virtual wallet.

Without any action on your part, the money from your sales accumulates in your Wallet. You can choose to re-spend the money on Bon Magasinage or request a lump-sum transfer to your bank account. If you wish to withdraw money from your “My Wallet” area, simply click on “Withdraw”, enter the amount you wish to withdraw and click on “Send request”.

In order to spread the costs of bank transfers, the global transfer sent to your bank account will be punctuated by $1.50 CAD (i.e. only once $1.50 per request and not $1.50 per sale) .

It takes up to 7 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays) following the withdrawal request for the transfer to be sent to you via our payment partner WISE. You will receive an e-mail offering you the option of receiving an Interac transfer or direct deposit.

Who pays for delivery?

Delivery costs are the responsibility of the Buyer. These costs are automatically calculated at the time of purchase. Once the order has been placed in your closet, as a Seller you will simply need to generate the mailing label from your “My Sales” area, attach this label securely to your parcel and drop it off at the Canada Post office (not the P.O. Box).

New ✨

During the “ad creation you’ll notice that we now ask for the weight of your item, which helps us calculate the cost of postage when a member stores for your closet. So it’s important to give the right weight so that the price is right and there’s real appeal in ordering from your closet.

Note: To weigh your items, we recommend using your own (clean) kitchen scale. This weight, indicated in grams, helps us calculate the price of postal delivery when a member stores for your closet. It is therefore important to give the right weight so that the price is right and there is a real attraction for our members to order from your closet.

During the “postal label creation via the “My Sales” section section, you’ll notice that we now ask for the dimensions and weight of your parcel. This also helps us to generate a perfect final mailing label, which will facilitate the delivery of the parcel to Canada Post. So it’s important to get the dimensions right. We reserve the right to charge you for any declared dimensions which are not respected and which would result in disproportionate delivery charges invoiced to Bon Magasinage.

Who pays for the envelope or shipping box?

The container in which the sale items are packed is the responsibility of the Seller. We recommend using what you already have at home only if you have envelopes or boxes in very good condition.
