Vintage 1960s Bowler Hat – “Creation by André” – Luxury “Soleil” Czechoslovakian felt – Size 21″
A superb vintage cloche hat from the 1960s by the renowned Montreal haute couture millinery house “Creation by André”.
An authentic and elegant piece, perfect for collectors of mid-century fashion.
• Exceptional material: Crafted from premium-quality felt imported from Czechoslovakia (original silver-coloured stamp on the inside: “Empress de Luxe / diamond Soleil / imported Czechoslovakia”).
This “Soleil” felt has a unique, glossy and soft finish that perfectly mimics short-pile fur.
Trim: Wide beige grosgrain ribbon and an original crown of genuine pheasant feathers. • Size: 21 inches (inner circumference).
• Overall condition: Very good vintage condition for its age. The hat has retained all its superb lustre and structure.
The original woven label in yellow thread is in impeccable condition on the inside.
Please note (minor flaw): A small section of the edging holding the feathers in place has come away from the ribbon over time (see photos). This is a very simple repair to carry out using a dot of invisible fabric glue or a small stitch, but I prefer to leave it in its original condition for the buyer.
